Anyone else like the expandable ratchets?

Also I absolutely do deliberately put these in tool bags in my vehicles. Each one is arguably 2 or 3 ratchets in one.

I have one of the expanding breaker bars for lug nuts in my Jeep. I also carry a 1/2" impact driver and a full tool set. Along with a ton of other things as I go off-road way off the beaten path at times.

Love Hazet but that looks like a sealed head like a new facom ?
Not on a Hazet, afaik all Hazet ratchets are rebuildable/reparable with replaceable grips. The kit is available from Amazon but in Germany for Half the price. Having these parts replaceable separates the top shelf tools from the not so top shelf. For the money it is a screaming deal and actually cheaper than in Germany because of no 19%MwSt.

That ratchet is definitely sweet.
90 teeth and apparently incredibly strong where typically you trade off strength for tooth count.

On my facom I'll just have to live with the lifetime warranty vs. replace it myself someday.

In 3/8" dr I have an older Duralast that was my favorite ratchet for awhile. Like I said, I've kinda moved on but it was handy. The head is quite thick (.703") which is a drawback.

Still, very versatile for a college kid or roadside/trail kit!

I haven't tried one yet. I've worried that the handle would flex too much for my liking, when it is extended. What is your experience with this?
oh, they get sloppy. I've gone through probably 10 of these extender styles. Then having the ratchet head flex is another wear point.
They're nice when new. Just like anything else.

all that adjustment **** is nice when doing light duty stuff. But when things get serious, they just stay in the safety of the tool box, otherwise i'm back at the parts store holding it in 5 pieces. If i manage to not break them, the torque will just amplify the 'adjustments' and such on them, and they end up all loosie goosie sloppy garbage. Which can be a good thing, makes them even more adjustable.

Chrome dixie cups. Expect them to not last. Simple as that.

I put a 1/2 inch drive in each car with sockets if ever a tire change was needed away from home and a have two more in the tool boxes. Yesterday I bought a 3/8 drive while at HF. I love these ratchets. With some fasteners that are 80 LBS and above these make it easy.
I beat the snot out of the first gen of the Pittsburgh 1/2 extendable ratchet with no failures, even while using a floor jack on the handle to loosen some suspension bolts. The torque with new nuts and bolts is 80 lbs add 15 years of rust and who knows what it was. Thinking this one might be more fun. 17 to 23 inch expansion MAXPOWER 1/2-Inch Drive Extendable Ratchet

This extendable 3/8" dr ratchet has been my go to for the past decade. Extremely versatile and feels great in your hand.

I bought a swivel head ratchet thinking I'd like it, but it just doesn't feel right and I don't use it very much:

What is the upper one? I've never seen a flex head in this style.

On the swivel head, give 'em a shot in 1/4". For whatever reason it's the only drive size I like a roto head. Specifically, the Cornwell/Carlyle is my go-to 1/4" ratchet.

It's nothing special, just a Mastercraft from Canadian Tire: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-drive-extendable-ratchet-3-8-in-0589151p.html

I'm actually not crazy about the flex head as it's been more of a nuisance than beneficial, but not a big deal as you can lock it. The quick release button is great to have though.

And thanks for the tip, a swivel head does make more sense on a 1/4" dr. I typically use smaller and lower profile for 1/4" for more clearance/access
