~raises hand! Yes, yes I have. My friends say I am a tool snob! It is very rare that I come across a job that I dont have what I need to work on it.

You know how some women like buying shoes or clothes they dont need? Yeah I am that way with tools!

Yup, I love tools

All the time... at work. I've become the go-to guy for oddball tools. Need parallel jaw pliers? Got 'em. Need a narrow kerf saw? Got it. Need a sheet metal nibbler? What size, small or large? Hole punch? Check. All sorts of tools for prototyping work. Keeps it interesting.

Usually it's a case of working my way through some problem and then getting the tool for next time. You always have to get stuff done right away, but then I'm better prepared for next time.

Sure. I've picked up a number of tools at auctions that I don't have an immediate use for. I purchased them because I either knew that I would use them eventually (such as a Porter Cable power planer), or because they were part of a package that contained tools that I wanted.

The items that I knew I'd never use I either disposed of (if they weren't in decent condition), sold or gave away.

Rarely. In fact, I often buy tools because I have an immediate need for them. Then I usually find more uses for them. But then, I make my living in large part with hand and power tools, so I have quite a pile of tools. OK, I admit I didn't really need the Milwaukee V28 cordless hammer drill I bought some years back, but it was on sale, and it was the most powerful cordless drill I've ever used. Unfortunately, it was stolen, and I miss it.
