Hi all,
I was looking at rockauto for brake pads for my cavalier. There were two different choices available. Semi-,metallic and ceramic. Both were only a few dollars difference. What's the current consensus on quality/ life expectancy from Bosch brake pads?

I have used Bosch Blue ceramic pads in the past. no reported issues efficient and quiet clean braking. I would suggest ceramic pads on a light vehicle like a cavalier, semi metallic will shorten rotor life and make more dust. the metallic will have more bite and would be best suited for heavier vehicles or towing where you need repeated strong bite.

I put the best O’R pads on the 2017 Tahoe - they are made by Bosch.
Have been fade free - quiet - stops quickly

Just put quiet cast on the back of my truck and all 4 sides of daughters.
Quality looks good stopping good, no noise yet

I settled on POWERSTOP several years back and have never been happier with my braking performance and maintenance.
I always run the carbon/ceramic pads and rotors depend on the application. On the LEX I did coated rotors, on the 3 I did coated cross drilled and slotted. I will say that the the brakes are amazing on any of their rotors, honestly the solid coated seem to be a bit more "grabby" if you will.

I also have NEVER had any OE fitment issues and all hardware has always been included, I do use extra brake grease as they do not supply enough for my personal liking. They run clean, never overheat, never fade during my driving anyway, which is often quite spirited. We have used them on our JEEPs and family SUVs as well, still no complaints even off-roading in the JEEPs they stayed cooler than expected.

Cant say enough good things about them and the price when compared to other performance or OE upgrade pads.

My $0.02

Running power stop oe kit on my Nissan no fitment issues wheels stay clean and vehicle brakes very reliably.

Happy with the Duralast Elites I’ve installed. They are a bit noisy cold but quiet down once warm. I’ve installed PerfectStop on a Subaru, also made by Bosch.

I don't see what brand of vehicle you have, but FYI..

Same experience, z23 and z26 work great. They are not cheap, but still a good value for how good they are. I would see Bosch as a more budget friendly option

I’ve used Bosch QC pads and rotors on an Avalon and Outback for over ten years too.
Quiet and dependable.
Interestingly, the Subie OEM was ceramic fronts and semi-met rears. Or vice versa. Can’t recall.

Bosch rotors and pads are my fav last couple of years and I used them before then too.
3 years ago or before then I was happy with Raybestos EHT line but now their rotors rust fast and pads are not great either, I had both (sides) rear pads delaminate on my Sportage a couple thousand miles after install. I kept the rotors as they were ok/good but had to run to a store and get a set of pads; choices were limited and prices were high.
