I just picked up some Union 76 (Unocal/Exxon) 10-30 Synthetic blend oil for $1.19 a quart at Bi-Mart.

It is rated SM/SF and some of the newer designations....Anyone using it? and I imagine it is a good 5,000 mile OCI?

Just looked at the bottle ILSAC Group-4 is the newer designations I mentioned in the above post. So this oil should have base II or III stocks in the formulation.... Correct?

I have it in my Intrepid. It's been 2200 miles and it still looks fairly new. So far it looks like a drop in for Motorcraft semi 5/30. I just picked up 10 more quarts at Walmart. Putting it in my daughters Neon tomorrow.

Made by ConocoPhillips - who just happens to blend and bottle Motorcraft for Ford in the U.S., too. Other equivalent ConocoPhillips brands:

Phillips TropArtic Synthetic Blend
Conoco Super All Season Synthetic Blend
Kendall GT-1 High Performance Synthetic Blend

All available as Group III/Group II blends in 5W-20, 5w30, and 10w30. (ConocoPhillips has reported to online and telephone inquiries that the base oil content is at least 50% Group III in these synthetic blends.) They're all rated API SM/CF and ILSAC GF-4. If these and Motorcraft aren't identical peas, at least they all came right out of the same pod. (In other words, any additive and base oil assay differences are negligible.) While there've been a number of Motorcraft used oil analysis postings, I'm hoping eventually someone will bother posting a used oil analysis for the 10w30 flavor of any or all the other ConocoPhillips brands.
