CBS/Rather has a thing (hatred) for conservatives .....now he has stepped over the line into the dog squish, it's between his toes and he says it isn't......this is very ugly!!!

Rather was a bit shaken it seemed on the Friday CBS news cast. A Denver radio talk show host, Gunny Bob Newman, said an insider he knows at CBS told him that Dan Rather was "defecating bricks"
If Karl Rove is really behind this, I move we appoint him inteligence czar.
Looks like it's over for Dan Rather and CBS. Maybe for Kerry too, if these forgeries can be linked to his campaign operatives:

I think what Toomany is saying is that CBS doesn't write authentic military records. I agree, and I doubt it actually was CBS that faked this one either. I am sure the mainstream media is going to bury this under the newer smears. They may even have a genuine 1978 document with a error in it. What have the candidates done in this millennium?
Oh, I was never thinking CBS perped this. I was just totally disgusted, as usual, CBS ran it as FACT as did headlines accross the nation....then no retraction, only some weaselworded back section articles at best with enough jibberjabber and whackedlingo to lose the average voter in 10-15 words.....

MarkC - I agree. Just drop it. CBS tried to drop the bombshell and look...they just look worse (I didn't think it possible). The swiftboat guys just came across as living 3 decades back. At this point it doesn't matter. Look forward.

No MarkC, both candidates may have made mistakes 30 years ago, but this forged smear is recent. Once again showing how ill served Kerry is by the truth.
I think the papers were dummied up by the DNC, this type of thing has McAulliffe's and Carville's prints all over it, and Rather and CBS either swallowed it hook, line, and sinker, or were willing accomplices since they hate Bush and the GOP so much.

I kindly suggested that Dan Rather look for a different line of work if he can't provide the original documents for independent testing. That's not too much to ask, given that all the other major news outlets are saying the documents are very likely forgeries.
