Any experiences with Dorman steelies?

Space saver spare in the Sentra is about 14 years old so I’m replacing it, this time with a full size spare. Nissan amazingly put in a deep enough trunk pan to fit one.

Planning to get a steel wheel to mount a full size tire on it as my new spare. Normally wouldn’t touch Dorman with a 10 ft pole but their steel wheels seem to be really well reviewed and are even the hearted option on RockAuto.

Any experiences with their wheels? Or are there other good steelies you would recommend for this. There don’t appear to be many options.

Columbia is a notable rim manufacturing country. They make nice alloy rims for some oem's in that market down to just steel wheels like that. I would have no issue running that rim. It's just a basic rim, can't mess something up that bad.

Bought one recently. It was made in Colombia, round, and balanced well with a decent tire. Price was right and appears to be a decent product.

You could try Discount Tire.
They sell wheels for the exact reason you want one.
They may even have a slightly used tire for it.

Ended up going with Road Ready Wheels instead of Dorman as the reviews called out good packaging for shipment and I didn’t want to deal with a bent rim. Also ordered a brand new Goodyear Reliant for $59 from Walmart’s Black Friday sale. Should do the job of spare tire perfectly and was great to get a Goodyear for the price of a Sailun or Milestar or a used tire. Going to have Discount Tire do the mount and balance. And now I’m strangely looking forward to needing to use the spare. After dealing with a flat on a Sunday far away from home a few years back, I’m glad to have a full size spare. Kudos to Nissan for making the room in the trunk pan. If only my Honda had the same.

Go to the junkyard and get a full size steelie for $25 and then spray paint it. Bingo.

A younger me would have been so down for these shenanigans. I fondly remember pulling all sorts of parts from the local U pull it on my first car. Those were the best of times. Now I’m spoiled by Amazon.
