I was just checking RockAuto and noticed they had United Ignition Wire Corp branded Distributor Cap and Rotor for $19, half the price of the Delco cap and Rotor. The United cap even has brass terminals whereas the Delco terminals are aluminium.
With the flat distributor cap that the 4.3l engine has, the prevailing wisdom is to use the Delco cap. But the price for the United cap is very tempting. If I do install the United cap, I will scope the spark pattern and ensure that the cap performs just as well as the Delco.
