antifreeze type

I have a 2000 olds alero.
What kind of antifreeze do i need to use.

dexcool or a generic dexcool compatible. Prestone 5 year all makes, supertech...

So for GM vehicles i should use dexcool type stuff?

What is Xerex G-05 made for?Is it the best stuff going?

I hear bad things about prestone from people any truth to that?

Prestone is just a brand name. They make several types of coolant, and all are as good as any.

Dexcool got a bad rap in GM engines mainly due to cheap & shoddy GM gaskets and cheap & shoddy GM radiator caps.

G-05 is right for Fords, Chryslers & Mercedes, and most other European engines.
