I recall it IS possible to OD on it...but said OD is not dangerous. In fact, the result is generally limited to overuse of the word "DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!"

Ginger may help...may. But it needs to be far stronger than soda, cookies, etc. Peel a piece and bite down on it. He may not be able to tolerate it raw as it's quite spicy like this.

I'd go with Phenigren. Be sure to keep them in the fridge...

I have heard that ginger tea (essentially: boiled ginger root with some sugar) can work.

I have two good friends with severe Crohnes disease and the ONLY thing that helps with their nausea and weight loss is cannabis. They were both on a liquid form of opium I think called "Lathum" but the sheer cost drove them away. Luckily here in Washington State cannabis is 100% legal with or without a green card as of Dec 2012.

my sister's drug cocktail gave her nausea and weight loss problems (HIV/AIDS - she got it from her husband who is pretty sure he got it in the Marine Corps on shore leave when he was a young private. )

She said that Marinol restored her appetite and helped with the nausea but it didn't have the more "party-like" side effects of cannibis. No high, just hungry

I like the open nature of the discussion in this thread. A definite sea change in attitudes, well reflected in recent national polling.

Anyway, this probably isn't much help, but while I was dealing with cancer I dealt with nausea with pepto-bismol. It seemed to help.

I was surprised at how civil and open this discussion was too. It is very encouraging.

Why should it not be civil?

While I do not go along with the use of illegal drugs, having had cancer myself 10/12 years ago and going thru chemo therapy, the use justifies the end results. I did not need any anti nausea meds but for those that do, use what works, and keep focused on getting well no matter what the means.

Try Canada, My daughter was on a drug $1600.00 in USA, 290.00 in Canada, same mfr, strength etc. It is a crime what the drug companies are allowed to get away with in this country. My dad used to tell me, "Only stupid people rob with guns in this country" now I know what he meant

I took Prochlorper when I was going through chemo back in Jan and Feb. I was going through the MOPP regimen for Hodgkin Lymphoma at that time. I rarely got nauseated and if I did, one of those pills took care of the problem. I was given Zofran also but never used it.
I'm in remission now.

I also took a pill called Mutalane that ran 2200 bucks for 42 of them. Lord knows what the actual chemo injections cost! One was Mustargen...a controlled substance. Google it.
