Well, I have a '05 Silverado 4x4 and I'm semi-loyal to Amsoil products. Why? Seemed like the thing to do at the time....

Anyhow, I know jack about the NLGI ratings and additional attributes. I know I need something that GC/LB rated, but other than that...who knows?

I was looking at ordering a tube (since my birthday present to myself was a Lincoln 1134 grease gun...yee haw) and there seems to be too many choices.

They had:
-GH series "Heavy Duty" EP grease w/ moly NLGI #1 and #2
-GL series "Multi Purpose" grease NLGI #0/1/2
-GR series "Racing Grease" NLGI #2

I know nothing of the test credentials that the racing grease claims.....but it has pretty pictures and graphs!?!

The only variables on my end are that my truck is a 4x4 and I live in southwest Missouri.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Their Racing Grease is the top of the line. For just a few dollars more for a single tube, might as well get the good stuff.

Grease forum is kinda slow, eh? Are there any downfalls to the "racing grease" or will it just be overkill...(I don't mind the minimal cost difference). I do like to kill ants with sledge hammers.....

If you and the 4x4 do a lot of creek crossing or splashing I'd use the Amsoil water resistant grease. It has pretty good wear resistance and hold up to water really well.
