Would always buy the AutoZone bundled deal...5 qts of Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 plus an STP long life cartridge filter for my Merc GLC300 4Matic, when the time came to change the oil. Usually 6-7k miles. Could be had for under $40 total, although was slowly creeping up. Now it's closer to $50+ as the bundle discount has been removed. Filter alone is around $15.

No idea why this has happened, but this is pre-Iran war pricing.

Orielly's does bundles too and with their great Microgard Select oil filters.
Thanks. Microguard select cartridge is available for $10. A good deal, but unfortunately O'Rielly's doesn't bundle it with Mobil 1 products, only store brand and Valvoline. Mobil 1 is available at the regular higher price.

I’ve never understood the appeal of these parts store bundles when Walmart exists.
Same here...and the occasional eBay or Amazon deal. I have enough stock to cover my four cars through the end of 2027 presently. Last ESP purchases were $24 per jug delivered. Valvoline Restore and Protect was $22 per jug. I'm done for a while...

No deals on-line either....same pricing as walk in.
You should consider buying from FCP Euro. You can get the superior Mann, Hengst and Mahle filters for both oil, engine and cabin. AND they come with a lifetime warranty, so you can return them for store credit. If you want, you can even do it with the oil as well. There is an entire thread dedicated to this incredible program in the Euro Oils portion of this forum.

I don't return oil and coolant, but I do return every filter and worn out part I purchase from them...most recently a front steering center link and end links.

AutoZone deal is really good for ESP X4. Normally $12 a qt, and Walmart doesn't sell it.
Good deal for you. Local AZs don't have ESP X4 0W-40 available, only Supercar. And that is NOT included in the bundle deals. Everything else Mobil is, but still can't beat Wally and FCP.

Just looked at FCP Euro. Their pricing on suitable filters is good, but S&H has to be added so not so good. And unfortunately, they don't carry Mobil 1 of any type. For my purposes best I can find for Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 is still Walmart. Currently at $28 but watching for a deal.

For the filters there are local walk-in retailers and chain auto stores I watch for deals. Presently have found it best to build a small stock when prices are favorable, rather than shop when the time comes for an oil change. My vehicles are German so I recognize this strategy may not be the best for domestic or other non-Euro brands.

Right now walmart shelves are getting pretty bare for filters. O'Reilly's has a decent deal on Valvoline Restore and Protect with a microguard select filter for like $39 right now. One stop shop, instead of going to multiple stores, for a similar price, if you bought them separate.

Free shipping at FCP Euro on orders over $49.

I have an idea. Because both oils and oil filters are overpriced at AtoZone and Advance Auto Parts.

Those same products would cost you about $35-40 at Walmart on a regular price (no discounts), before taxes. The oil alone is $28 for 5 qts. And if you live far from the store you can get them shipped.

Unfortunately, it looks like regular filter prices (quality filters) are about $13-15. I don't know why is that. I use only OEM filters for $6-7 from the dealer or the same from Walmart.

Here is an example - Toyota OEM filter:
$6.50 at the dealer
$7.70 at Walmart
$14.00 at O'Riley's

Good advice. I get my Toyota filters on one of their quarterly online discounts specials and pay $3 per oil filter. I buy 10 or 12 at a time, along with engine air filters and other parts and get free shipping and no sales tax. I get enough to cover me for a couple years.

For my German cars (engine, air and cabin) I get them from FCP Euro and return them after use...so my only cost now is the return shipping...which I use a discount service (pirateship.com) so not much...I just throw them all in a box and send back once a year.

Great! I used to do that some time ago but cannot find them that cheap anymore and don't want to buy filter at eBay or Amazon.
Do you mind if you message me the link to that online store, please?
