Android Auto stopped working after dealer repair

This seems to coincidental.
2020 MDX with 100k miles
Recently purchased wiht "Precision Used: full factory Honda warranty (6 months or 7500 miles)

Rear vents would blow out hot air when off even if front ac on (known issue for some Hondas)

Dealer replaced rear heater core box witch houses blend doors I think. It's located under the center console area. Works great now.

Android Auto is wired on this car. Plugs into USB Data port in the center console, which was removed for the repairs.

So now, android auto won't connect. Tried 3 different android phones. They do charge phone battery, but car screen says connecting, or something like it,and never connects.

Took it back to the dealer, service writer plugs in his Apple, and voila, car play
works.

Google AI search results mention that Android and Apple (though they use the same USB plug) differ in communication protocols and if a wire was pinched during reinstall of the console, it could allow Carplay to connect but not Android Auto, as a minor voltage drop could cause AA to not connect. Not sure, but that's what Gemini said.

Im gonna try a another android phone, and see if my phone will connect to a different vehicle. If those work, I'll take it back to the dealer.

Try another cable and also finally Android phone. Only two variables.

I tried several cables, and a total of 3 android phones, no joy.

One of the same cables that wouldnt connect my Android did connect the dealers Apple Car play phone.

So 1 Apple phone connected, 3 android phones did not

I was looking for someone with an android phone to try yet another phone, before I took it back to the dealer. I then decided to check for an obvious pinched wire or loose connection. Reseated all the USB connectors, found one disconnected that went to the Bluetooth module. It works now.

This recent repair where the dealer removed the center console to replace the rear heater core, took almost a month. So I'm happy it works without having to be without my car for another few weeks.

Most cables fail in data transfer tests. I recently saw an article about that. A tester is $49.95 though, so I'll be waiting till I have an issue.

My old cable that I've been using since I bought the car, Anker, seems fine now. But i have noticed a huge difference in charging speeds, same charger, just swapping cables
