Colts fan here. I was happy with his pro day. But not to analyze this throw too much but his receiver had to adjust his route to the throw.

History is filled with big armed college boys who could not stand the heat in the NFL.

How far you can throw is hardly the measure of an NFL grade QB.

And that receiver made him look good!

One JaMarcus Russell comes to mind. He could throw 70 on his knees and he is out of the league.

if Andrew Luck came out of college last year instead of this year. Peyton Manning would still be in Indy even with three neck surgeries

LOL. Al, throwing the ball 70yds in the air is still impressive, that is the point.

Andrew Luck was a sophomore last year and couldn't come out.

I believe he redshirted his freshman year. I think he got an extra year of ncaa eligibility

And into a pretty good wind to boot.

The point to him even throwing that last one was because arm strength was the only facet of his game that was suspect. At this point he looks to have all the tools to succeed in the NFL. Obviously the proof will be in how he plays at the next level.

I think that was a response to Robert Griffin III throwing 70 yards almost flat-footed!

They're both great quarterbacks, but I actually think there's more upside with RGIII. When you consider he was splitting time between track and football and is pretty much the same level as Luck (who's probably been a full-time QB since birth, given his lineage), you have to think he has more room to improve. I bet they both turn out well though; they're both smart and seem to have it together off the field. RGIII is probably the best athlete to every play the position, and I have to wonder if the Colts are reconsidering what to do with that first pick?

They've spent too much time, I think, crafting an offensive system catering to a pure pocket passer (who is highly immobile) to turn the whole thing upside down now.

Almost that entire staff is gone now. The only coach remaining from that coaching staff the former offensive coordinator is now the QB coach. The offensive coaching staff is now the former Steelers OC which the Steelers no longer wanted.

exactly, I don't think the Colts have any system at all in place right now! If anything, Bruce Arians is probably more used to a guy like RGIII who moves around the pocket. I don't think there's a bad choice here. While you never know, I don't see either of these guys turning into Ryan Leaf; but between the two, I'd go with RGIII.

He's going to be the next Ki-Jana Carter.(biggest first round bust) Mark my words. Indy by letting go of Peyton and drafting Andrew Luck is going to be the chumps they were before Peyton Manning came to town. Colts did two things wrong this off season, letting go of Peyton Manning and firing Bill Polian as their GM.
