AMSOIL Syncromesh MTF

Has anyone used the new (kindof) AMSOIL Synchromesh MTF in their manual trans yet? Just curious as to the reactions of those who have used it.

I want to put it in my neon which specs ATF+4 from the factory but is pretty much the same trans as the other neons that spec'd the mopar manual trans lube, that i believe has been discontinued. the trans specifically is an NVT-350

MTF will work great. I think the later ATF recommendation is purely for MPG.

i think the atf was just to reduce inventory, aka save $$$.

im mainly interested in added protection for the syncros. i will wait until my warrenty is up, which is actually pretty soon. (have 45000 miles on it, 70000 mile warrenty.) maybe ill do it a little sooner.

the shifting cant be any notchier than it is now. i did put amsoil atf in the trans back at about 13000 miles because i wanted a synthetic fluid in there. and the shifting improved a little over stock.

im sure specialty formulations makes an excellant fluid but the amsoil is cheaper and i am working on getting all of my fluids to be amsoil. the engine will be switched to amsoil at 50000 miles. then everything will be amsoil, engine, trans, and power steering.

Do a search..should be quite a few posts.I use it in my NV3550 Jeep transmission and it works fine.

The Amsoil MTF is a very high quality fluid. I'm sure your gears and bearings will last much longer with it than ATF.
The jury is still out concerning shifting performance. On this and other forums, many have reported 'notchy' shifting.
There is a good chance you will like it, but who knows?
Specialty Formulations gear oils [get the proper viscosity, of course] has a very good track record of shifting improvement. This is in addition to great protection, as well.

I'm using it now in my NVG 3550 with very good results over the OEM fluid.
