The lower sulfur limits in the API GL4 specification are one reason why GL4 oil is recommended in manual transmissions.
All this in mind, I'd sure like to see those Boron based additives by Chevron combined with fully synthetic basestocks. This might solve a few problems.
Does it mean that SVG is not recommended for the manual gearboxes? Actually, I intended to use SVG for my differential and manual gearbox since Subaru's manual handbook specify the same rating for the both components.
