Per Amsoil Magazine:

"....Amsoil Signature Series is undergoing a revolutionary reformulation that promises to usher in the next generation of motor-oil technology."

For the XL, HM and OE - already meets or exceeds Gf-7 and SQ standards.

Just an FYI. I was curious if/when Amsoil was going to reformulate SS.

Castrol has shown us that it is possible to develop a 25K mile extended drain oil (with the help of their additive suppliers) while maintaining GM and MB approvals. So, it'll be interesting to see what a "modern spin" on boutique oils will look like.

Amsoil has been modernizing their entire line-up and formulation strategy in recent years. I'm really curious to see how far they will push the boundaries this time since they have historically avoided API and OEM licensing on their signature series line.

I'm currently running Amsoil SS 0w-20 in the new Pilot, but seriously thinking of switching to HPL's Premium Plus PCMO. I've used Amsoil products for almost 50 years. From what I've been able to find related to HPL, they are quicker to incorporate the newest additive advancements and often have even more robust packages.

The amount of experience and wisdom on this forum is staggering and I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on using one over the other. Thank you.

Both are amazing oils and most likely the best money can buy. HPL is very open with base oil/additive selection, Amsoil has a warranty they back up and chosen by Lingenfelter after testing the best oils available. Tough call.

And ultimately, it’s about the performance that matters the most.
