Amsoil Sever & FGR gear lube.

I was wondering if anyone have tried Amsoil Sever gear or
Amsoil FGR 75-90Wt gear lube in a Toyota truck 5-speed
manual transmission? I used the GL-4 Amsoil MTG lube it
only made this transmission shift a little better. I figure if
the LG-4 typpes don,t help much, why not go for thr GL-5
lubes. And yes I did try Redline. I used both the Mt-90 and
the Manual gear lube, even tried mixing them. Those toyota
transmission still are tough from 1st to second or back. It have tried this is a least fiver of thses trucks I have owned.
I figure with the GL-5 I might get more gear protection.
Any ideas guys?

Stick with the MTG. I believe the GL5 has more EP and can harm yellow brass that might be in your type of transmisson.
Not 100% sure about that, but the MTG is your best bet.

What year, make, model, engine size? Does it specify GL4 or GL5?

I switched from the OEM Honda MTF in my 06 Honda Civic Si 6 speed to Amsoil MTF and made a huge difference in shifting improvement.

The Amsoil SVG made my BMW K1200LT shift better as well as some friends Harleys.

The Toyotas can use GL4 or GL5. I have had a number of people run the Severe Gear 75w-90 with great success.

I would suggests the GL-4 Amsoil gear lube, which is The MTG. From the threads I have read on here, it seems that GL-5 gives harder, knotchier shifts, perhaps due to the slightly thicker viscosity and higher EP additives.

GL4 for the manuals
GL5 for the 'ends

A fluid won't fix an issue with the transmission. It can help delay the repair.
A also fluid make make up for known issues in some transmissions.
