Hi all,

After replacing my power steering reservoirs on my RX330 and LS430, I have come to realise I am using Amsoil PSF which is not rated for these vehicles (they take Dexron III).

I have been using amsoil PSF for 4 years in both vehicles with no apparent negative effects.

Keen on the community's thoughts on whether switching to ATF is required.

What years are your Lexi?

It's interesting that Toyota recommends an (essentially) defunct spec fluid. So "defunct" that Amsoil no longer lists it in the PSF tech sheet.

So, indeed no problem.

If it helps, I have been using the Amsoil PSF in my 2016 Tundra since it was new. It also lists Dexron III for power steering fluid.

The Amsoil is straw colored, just like the Toyota fluid, and same viscosity as the Dexron III specification.

It’s all good.

Dexron/Mercon is still available as SuperTech ATF. My Ranger and 4Runner specs it. I'm using M1 ATF in the trans and SuperTech ATF in the power steering. It's sold in 4 quart jugs so I'm good for a while!
