I consider Amsoil a "premium" motor oil. When I see the oil test they do against other oils they only seem to compare themselves against one other semi "premium" oil Mobil 1.

Do they ever plan on running a test against other premium oils like Redline, Royal Purple and others?

That would be interesting to see!

There's no market share to gain taking on one of the bit players.

.

Amsoil's gear/motorcycle white papers compared Amsoil to RP/RL/Motul and others. For their PCMO's, Mobil 1 is the giant, while RP/RL are such a small market share so I can see why they don't include them. It would be nice to see though.

Amsoil should have a new comparison out any day now for their PCMO's.

I'd think that the users of Redline, Royal Purple, etc. would be the very best people to market Amsoil toward, but I'm no marketing specialist. It stands to reason that the people who use these kind of oils would be more open to the concept of Amsoil. Especially RP users might be made to switch since their stuff is now so widely available and part of the attraction there is the rarity of the oil. Of course there are less of them, but they are a more receptive audience.

I kind of agree on that. I never really heard of Amsoil till I got on here and started researching different oils. But I am sure people that use premium oils have heard of it.

They used to compare Redline oil against some of their oils in graphs. I believe it was the old series 2000 20w-50 oil.

Their thought since Redline is such a small company why even mention them. Why bring up the competition?
