When I purchased this car the oil was about as black as I've ever seen oil. I know that is not a good indication of a oil's protective ability, but it was ugly looking oil to me and I couldn't wait to get it changed.
When I saw my first UOA come back and the iron was at 144 I was a bit concerned. Car is still under full warranty for 15 more months and about 25,000 miles at that time...but man...I would love to know when that oil was last changed before I bought this car.
I decided to to my next couple OCI's near the 2,500 mark until I knew more about the engine. Either is was going to show some issues or it was going to get better. Looks like I own a pretty good engine.
Since the car is burning a slightly lower amount of oil compared to many GTI owners I talk to on forums I'm feeling pretty good about that also.
This last analysis looks pretty good to me...so now that I feel like I have the engine/pan, etc flushed of that original oil, wear metals, contaminants from when I took delivery. No I'm ready to extend my OCI a bit.
Thought this one was worth sharing.

2,698 was your longest run yet, not counting first sample since we don't know how many miles were on the oil when you purchased in February. Wear read about same or improved which is what we like to see. Iron was really high back in February, but has since settled down to a respectable 11 ppm....
