I need to replace my aging SDF10 filter. Amsoil's website helpfully suggests both the EAO09 and the EAO10 as replacements, but doesn't say what the difference is between them. I'm also thinking of going with an oversized filter such as the SDF84. According to Amsoil's website, that filter does not exist.

Does anyone have a chart of the new EAO filters and their thread, height, gasket size, bypass PSI, etc.?

Thanks!

Alex,

Info you are looking for is on page 531 – 532 of the new AMSOIL Filter Guide (G3000)

EaO09 and 10 are both ¾-16 threads. Gaskets (2.475 OD, 2.173 ID, .233 Thk) and Filter OD (2.685) are the same. Only difference shown in the book is the height. EaO09 is 2.977 while the 10 is 3.402, not quite ½ inch taller. New book doesn’t give the By-Pass Valve pressure rating so not sure on that.

The SDF84 was a ¾-16 thread. OD 2.920, Height 4.053, Gasket 2.460 OD, 2.210 ID. I believe it was replaced by the Donaldson P502016. Would need to go back to an old cross ref and see what application called for the SDF84 and then look up that application in the new cross ref. The WIX 51348 or Baldwin B159 should also work.

Both the EaO-09 and EaO-10 have a by-pass of 8-11 psi, and both have an anti-drainback valve. As JimT said, they are both identical except the EaO-10 is .405" longer/taller.
