Amsoil EA15K09 C&P w/ VR&P

So I cut this filter open after a recent oil change with Valvoline Restore and Protect. I have owned this car since new and I wasn’t really expecting to see any carbon. At worst she may have moderate varnish.

I didn’t see anything to worry about. Should have posted this tomorrow as the filter would be celebrating its 3 year birthday lol. I’m wicking the filter media now. However this three year old amsoil/champion filter looked just fine to me. Maybe a a wave or two in the leaf spring but I can live with that.

I took these pics in the evening hope the shade doesn’t take away from them.

More and it’s hard to tell but I turned that filter in my hand so that is close to a 360 look at the media.

You are welcome. Also yes sir, put the same filter from the same 2022 batch back on with Amsoil SS now. After this run I haven't decided if I am going back to Toyota OEM, or using a few more Amsoil.

As far as I know it's been and still is Champion Labs, since at least 2022 with this batch, and newer batches now using the Champion Labs E-Core Nylon cage.

I didn't know they were using E-Core. I think the last time I checked in on them they were made my Wix. That was probably a LONG time ago lol

Afternoon all. Just got an oil change kit in for the Prius as I was burning some coupons before they expired. I didn’t need the filter but whatever.

I also searched for discussion found a previous one from April but couldn’t find any pics. If I didn’t search hard enough appologies.

Still wire backed it seems. What gave it away was how much lighter it felt.

Also if I count right 10 vs 13 inlet holes.

The filter dates are 2 years apart but I have a couple made in 23 that also had a metal core.

Just sharing for curiosities sake. And no not an advertisement for NongShim I swear. Just a...
