Well, I'll be seeing how Si readings are in my current OCI and comparing it to a new AFE Pro Dry S I've got on the way. I wasn't pleased with Si numbers with the K&N, but it could be other things like some engine work causing mild spikes. Wear wasn't an issue for me(as far as ppm seen), but we're BITOG. Worth looking for changed variables and trying to read into them or learn something. It is good not to jump to conclusions but simply gather the facts.
K&N use in the OP's app here is definitely not a bad point to refer to as a potential reason for Si entry, let's be real. Try another run, see what happens to Si. Then, throw in a paper filter of decent quality with the same type of oil/filter combo and compare Si trends.
