By switching, do you mean mixing the two or draining & replacing one with the other? If the former, maybe bad juju!

I was reading about Amsoil's offering and was considering it as an alternative from Prestone in the old Civic. It's got so much aluminum, not sure if the Prestone 50/50 pre-mix is best suited.

OT Broken record alert from me! Don't pay for half water with 50/50 premix unless it's a must like Honda Type II* and to keep it OEM coolant. Get full strength and add distilled water to ~50% concentration much less expensive and really NOT that much less convenient. If doing a total flush, it only requires knowing cooling system capacity.

End of broken record.

*Aware that Honda makes a concentrate, but I've only seen it in qts. at Bernardi Parts online and with added shipping, it's no savings over premix from dealer after that is considered.

+1 in support of buying concentrated vs premix. As an example: 2009-2011 Fusion 3.0 V6 spec coolant is Motorcraft Specialty Green, only recently available in concentrated gallons at $18+ per gallon (part #VC-10A2) while the premix (part #VC-10A)lists at $15+ per gallon...hardly a decent discount for the water content of the premix.
