The sample sat in closet for too long would absorb moisture in the air even the lid is tight, isn't it the reason they want you to send it soon after taking sample ?

Did this possibly skew the results of this sample?

I'll be sending my first sample to Blackstone soon and was told by them to send it fairly soon after taking it, didn't ask them why.

I took a sample three months ago and forgot to send it in. It's been on a shelf in my garage ever since. Can I still send it in? Will the results still be good?

Should be fine.

There very well could be a difference between 3 months and "at least 8 months". How much of a difference? I guess that would depend on the variables.

Prolly better to send it sooner than later :)

AMSOIL, however, engineered
ASM specifically for maximum viscosity protection. ASM is shear stable. It will not break down, and
it contains high quality additives to provide extra protection.

So far the 0w-20 has shown to be very shear stable.

I stuck with ASM in this car. Oil held up really well IMO.

I think once my stash of PP is used, at which point I'll be out of warranty, I'll start doing two oil changes a year with Amsoil. A simple spring/fall oil change interval was great with my Hondas. Since I'll be well within 10k miles every 6 months I can simply forget about mileage altogether. Extended drains (reasonable lengths < 15k miles) really do simplify life.

Nice UOA Buster.

I'd say the results are pretty impressive considering the engine probably isn't even broken in yet. That and the severe service use, looks good!

I have an 07 Mazda3. It has been a stellar car, needing simple oil changes and a set of tires in 32k miles. Once my stash of Synpower is gone, I might just go with ASM. easy 8-10k OCI means about 2 changes a year for me. Buster's results were on an engine which probably had some breaking in yet to do, yet they were impressive.

ASM is one of the best oils out there, bar none!
