One of the longest runs I've seen posted on this site!

That's awesome. That oil is built to last a really long time and it did here. Of course nitration is high because a lot of combustion happened while this oil was in use. It's what nitration can do (deposits, oil thickening, acids) that is bad, not the presence of nitration itself that is what matters. Different oils have different levels of protection against those effects and all looks well here in that regard. The UOA doesn't tell anything about deposit control though. Have to use the eyeball for that one. The small amount of thickening is impressive.

Yeah too bad insolubles weren't tested. It probably wouldn't be crazy because it seems to start getting close to an assymptotic value around 0.5 or 0.6%. I don't know if that is real (ex. oil filter gets better over time or insolubles start falling out of suspension) or a limitation of the test.

To answer a couple of questions:

-The oil filter was an Amsoil Ea. They're listed as a one year oil filter.

-No oil was added at all. The level remained steady until it was changed.

-As far as soot or other stuff, when eyeballing the oil it was fairly clean. It wasn't clean like new, but had a brownish color to it. Not black, and the oil wasn't thinned out.

-This is a lease vehicle, too. I didn't get the shakes... haha

Good report. I've been stuck at 7.5K miles using PP & purolator on this engine. I think i'd start to get nervous at 10k miles.
