you've never heard of ALMS?

how about 12 hours of Sebring race?

its called american lemans because its part of a series here that can race at le Mans in France for the grandaddy of them all race. Winning certain races gurantees you a spot in the 24 hour race. Some of the european cars that participate at the Le Mans race also will practice/test at our races, like the Road Atlanta and Sebring races........

the racing is cool because its almost real cars in the GT class, The cars have original engines, with the original drivetrain layout(I think they all use different transmissions tho).... you can see Ferrari's, Aston Martin, Ford GT, BMW, Porsche, and Corvettes duke it out in a pretty competitive environment. In my mind its probably the highest level of racing your going to have thats not something with tube frame cars like Nascar or open wheelers. Given the fact the cars are run for hours at end full blast is pretty cool too, its probably one of the more grueling onroad races out there.... I've seen the sebring one in person, and the guys never let up all day long, they are battling neck and neck.... its not like sit back and chill and work some time off the clock... its heated battle constantly

also similar to the Rolex series that does the 24 hours of Daytona, although I think the euro Le Mans series and ALMS(american lemans series) are much more exotic, especially in the prototype classes

I've been watching ALMS since the 1990's. I just can't believe someone would start a race series called ameracan le mans. It's bound to fail. Why would they spell American like that???
