Amazon to help fund new nuclear reactors

This country needs more nuclear reactors and if Amazon wants to help pay for them, all the better. All these big tech companies are buying up land in eastern Washington and Oregon near the Columbia river to use the river to cool their data centers.

Microsoft and Google (And I'm sure others) have also done similar things lately. Their AI datacenters, supercomputers, etc use an insane amount of electricity and nuclear is the only clean way to feed them, otherwise they get labeled as energy hogs and big environmental polluters.

Modern nuclear reactors can be made very safe and without much of the waste that the 70 year old reactors used to make. I hope we see more and more of these!

It’s amazing how all of the sudden nuclear power is a viable solution.
My only reservation is that these corporations will take the bulk of the power for themselves and the tax payer will end up subsidizing their energy costs in the end.

I agree and when this goes through it will be impossible to retaliate for any corruption now that they are directly in the country's infrastructure; like Enron.
