I just found out today something about amazon.ca that I had not known before.

I have Norseman Drill Bits in Save For Later cart and got an email from Amazon today that the price had gone down by about twenty bucks, from $125.43 to $107.97. I have received similar e-mails from Amazon before on other items in my Save For Later cart and assumed that Amazon was having a sale on the item and had lowered the price on the item for everybody.

I opened an incognito window and checked on the price and it was $125.43. So the sale price was just targeted at me and not a general sale price. They were just adding an inducement for me to buy something I have been considering. Who knew!

Do you have Prime? If you do, then the discount may not necessarily be targeting just you, but rather Prime members. That incognito window likely didn't have you logged in as a Prime member.

I got Prime so I could get stuff to my daughter at college in two days without paying for shipping.
We have watched a couple videos with Prime, we are usually on Netflix but it's nice to have another option.

May 1 $119 up 20%, I believe that's for new Prime customers, existing customers will get the increase at renewal.

Prime member - I have had items in my "Save for Later" and when I sign in, near the top it shows items with a change in price, increase or decrease. I pulled the trigger on item(s) that decreased in price and got them for the decreased price. Don't recall any Amazon emails for items in the "Save for Later" for a price decrease.

Heard about the prime membership price going up on the radio last night. Its a modest increase to me so I'll continue with my membership as I do a good bit of Amazon purchase's. They make it convenient for me, especially near end of year so I don't put up with the traffic, parking and crowding in the stores. Get my holiday shopping from the recliner is rough enough.

Easy method to avoid Prime increase from 99 to 119.

1. cancel existing prime, ignore the scary warnings as your membership WILL CONTINUE until expiration date despite cancel.
2. purchase Gift of Prime for 99. you can buy 1, 2 or more. they never expire.
3. when your prime expires, wait 1 day, then apply the Gift of Prime to yourself.

people have been doing this since prime went from 79 to 99 and those 79 Gift of Primes still work and will continue to work

this DOES NOT work for student prime.

What's the difference between amazon.ca and amazon.com?
