Any of you have experience/ good reviews of those Chinese chainsaws sold on amazon? Ive been looking for a small top handle saw, saw that they sold various brands such as Neotec, Proyama etc, the reviews are good but I figured Id ask here first.

Couple of years ago I saw a Lowes ad for a $50 Craftsman chainsaw. I bought it and have used it a few time, works pretty well.
I have a couple of Chinese Zenoah clones that have been good - De'Real 6220F chainsaw, etc. They're good saws to throw in the Jeep or ATV.
I don't have a Neotec/Holz top handle, but imagine they work OK for consumer use. I found a few top handle Mcculloch Eager Beaver top handles and an old Sears 2.0 top handle at a yard sale a couple of years ago - 3 saws for $60. Spring time is yard sale season!

Buy a good saw such as Stihl, Echo, Husky. Buy once cry once. Consider a name brand saw as a good investment. Reliable, parts available, dealer support, and many years of service. Buy a cheapie then you will not be happy and still look for and likely buy another cheapie thus spending good money after bad.
@mobilnissan1991 I posted a recent thread on another saw in the Sales section. The company I bought my 572XP from currently has this Husky top handle on sale. It's a pretty good buy.

My thoughts exactly.
Buying any odd brands on Amazon will result in throwing it away at first time of a problem.
ALWAYS ask yourself, "can I get replacement parts".
Our landfills are full enough.
Those Chinese saws may work fine til they don't. Then what? I would look at echo , you can get parts for those easily.

Neighbor of mine bought the Harbor Freight Atlas 18" battery powered saw. He was using it to clear some large (18" dia.) fallen limbs. He let me try it. Worked very well but my use was very limited. Sure is nice to not have to worry with gas/oil.
Look for a husky t435. It's a good saw but people hate them. Not a good power to weight ratio but they are still great in my book. H9 out of 10 times the muffler is plugged and they go on CL or FB pretty cheap. An exhaust cleaning and a carb kit and you'll have a great saw.
My go-to would be a lightly used Echo top handle. The Chinese saws I've found often need tuning out of the box to run right, or can be temperamental. Parts can be hit or miss. Not a big deal if you like to tinker, but not something you want out of a dependable tool.
I just picked up a new T435 yesterday at my local farm store for $259.99 + tax. It was on sale for $309.99 and they had some buy online pick up in store code that gave me an additional $50 off $300. I got the last one, so they said.
I have the muffler gutted already and will be advancing the ignition timing a bit. Supposed to really wake them up!
Indeed! Don't buy into all the hate, these are still great saws, and much cheaper than the echo CS-2511T.

I'm just going to be using it for limbing. I also have a 390XP, 346XP, 550XP and a Husky 350. All but the 350 have been ported.

Right or wrong, I just don't see Echo on the same level as Husky/Stihl.
My dad, who is elderly, recently went into a nursing home and Ive been cleaning up for my mom. Stumbled upon this saw that I forgot my dad had and hasnt been run in years Stihl MS180C. Is this a good saw? I plan on getting it running and fix it up, and can someone lead me in the right direction in regards to modding the muffler and tuning the carb? Is youtube my best option? I dont have much experience with 2 stroke carbs I dont want to lean it out and burn jt up but Id like to learn the proper way.
Tinman has a good carb tuning video. Once the cylinder fins warm up to the point you cannot hold your finger on them you can safely use full thottle unloaded (not in the cut) to get the RPM close. You loosen (counter clockwise) the H jet screw to a point the engine starts to sound like it has partial choke applied. This is refered to "four stroking" or "Blurbing" It sounds like you are saying the work "blurb" out the muffler. Then you start to tighten the H jet (clockwise) until the engine is screaming. Then you quickly loosen it back just enough to get the four stroking to come back and you stop adjusting immediately.
Now the next step is to do the final tune when in the cut. At full throttle the engine should be silk smooth while under load, and the moment you lift up and releive pressure from the chain the engine should start blurbing or four stroking. If you have it this way, this is optimal. Do it by ear just like tinman describes.
Here is a video of mine that is too rich ( I had it this way as this saw had just been rebuilt ). You can hear the four stroking while in the cut. Also my new chain was really grabby. This was its 2nd start ever, the first start was the night before and I was able to get the initial carb settings. This is very safe to start with, and you can always lean it out a little more. SKIP TO 1:40 .

I have the 2511t. It's a great saw I love it.
It's not, but it's still plenty good for home, light farm use. Echo does have a couple of commercial saws.
Regardless what saw you have you can always upgrade it with Stihl or Oregon chain. The bar on the other hand will be more of a challenge.
Oregon chain is not that great anymore. It's why Husqvarna started making their own. Husky's X-Cut chain is good stuff.
Bars......Tsumura or Sugihara. Cannon if you really want a good $$$$ bar.
