Not like this is a medical forum but I thought maybe I'd question the more -- ahh -- life experienced people on the board since I don't know what I'm talking about in this arena.
I've had an irritating but minor sore throat since Monday morning (so through three days now). No fever, minor aches [that may be unrelated] and not severe enough to make me feel like I don't want to eat or don't want to go to work. So it's likely it's a minor viral infection but not flu and not a cold.
I've been fine going work because I'm mostly isolated in my own little room but the problem is I'm supposed to go out of town to help my parents move this weekend. I really, really don't want to back out on that but I also don't want to get them sick. There's a chance I'll feel better tomorrow morning but obviously I don't know. Supposing it is a minor viral thing, is it likely that I'd still be contagious after 4 full days? Does whether or not the symptoms have gone away have any bearing on that?
