Good talk on AN's. Was familiar with most of what they talked about to a degree. Certainly have their advantages. Kings does mostly industrial (gear/compressor oils) but they also said they are involved with some racing applications.

He mentioned that most that use them to formulate always report positive things and stay with them.

I thought he was gravitating towards the "tighter tolerances" argument for using thinnish oil.

Just remember that each base oil type has its advantages and disadvantages.

No one base oil type can do it all.

As a non-chemist, I wonder if these could be used in PCMO to help improve engine cleanliness, especially in the ring packs? Ring detonation appears to be a problem with high calcium so perhaps improved base oil solvency could help carry the load.

This is the approach of most of HPL's oils, including their PCMOs.

Also wondering if AN solvency can have negative impacts on seals the way higher levels of Esters can?
