I realized recently that I'm getting old, and I'm only 33. This topic helps to explain why.

Metallica - everything but Saint Anger
Iron Maiden - 1983-1993. Really do enjoy their later albums and the Paul Dianno stuff as well but those prime years were incredible. Fortunately both Maiden and Metallica still tour and put on great shows.
Assorted 80's rock - Crue, GnR, etc.
Assorted 90's rock - Nirvana, Alice in Chains (RIP Layne & Mike Starr), Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc.

I struggle to think of anything that's really new in the past 10 years that I like. Foo Fighters and Audioslave don't really count because they tie back to those bands I loved 20 years ago.

For you Rush fans, and if you also happen to like Sabbath, and can handle music sung in another language,

Give a listen to this:

Zambia produced some fine music in the early to mid 70's.

Too bad much of it was poorly recorded.

Albums I'll never get tired of listening to are the first three Guns N Roses albums, the first 5 Metallica albums, and Extreme's "Three Sides To Every Story" (which is in the CD player of my Corvette right now actually)
