I got rid of my alarm clock in 1972. The only clocks in my home are on the computer and the phone, and there's a clock in the car. I don't even own a watch.

This thread makes me jealous, I have to set my phone and a back up old school clock radio just to make sure I get up 😴😴😴

I only have 20 more years, but I so look forward to when every day ends in "y". WFH and flex time is nice, what would be even better is when I can remove the WFH and flex from even that too.

I still get up around 3:00 AM just like I did for 30+years, even though I don't have to anymore. Can't break old habits.

Growing up as a child, my parents always had a clock in the kitchen.
Our lives revolved around that clock.
When to go to bed, when to leave for school, and when to be home for supper.

So as an adult, I want a clock in my house (dining room next to kitchen).
Recently I was late for an appointment due to daylight savings time.
I now have (in my dining room) two digital clocks that auto adjust for DST.
I also have an analog clock (auto adjust) because sometimes it's easier to look at.
All three clocks are accurate to the 'second'.

So, if anyone walks into my house, they will see 'three' clocks on the same wall.
They might ask "why three clocks?"
But they WILL NOT ask me what time it is.

I turn on the radio when I first wake up. If the weather report is that it's going to be sunny and 80 degrees today, I get up.
If they say it's 10 degrees and there's 6 inches of snow on the ground, back to sleep. Wonderful to be retired.

Regards,
John

Same! My clock radio is my primary and the cell phone is the backup. When I work day shifts I have to get up at 0245 and are out the door by 0300.

Very easy to sleep beyond that the rare times I'm actually sleeping soundly.

When I retired the red large digit LED Radio Shack Alarm clock, it had served dutifully for 35 years. Amazed that the battery backup worked great till the day it was retired.
