Air compressors for DIY home use?

Yeah, that is the peak rating, but at the peak (like when it first starts) it will be drawing 37 or more amps. It will run fine on a 15-20 amp circuit because that's about all it uses continuously.

the compressor says 15 amps on it, i never actually calc'd it out though. i do have it running off 15 amp service. maybe i'll have to bust out my trusty old induction ammeter and check it out.

does anyone know of a homeowner/backyard mechanic that has worn out an oiless compressor? they are not for constant pro use but occasionally?
