I have a Harbor Freight Cental Pneumatic 8 gallon, 2HP air compressor. I know, its cheap, but it works and the price was nice.

Over the last couple months I noticed the oil level dropping. I topped it off once prior to running it, and then early this week I noticed that the oil was almost all out, and there is noticeable oil running down the side of the tank.

This compressor doesn't really get much use, I probably have run it an average of once every 3 or 4 months. I'll be disassembling it to check it for gasket problems, but is there anything else I should check? Any common problems that would leak to an oil leak from the compressor? Like I said, it has not been run much, and I always check the oil level before running it.

I had one of those 8 gallon 2hp harbor freight compressors i got it on sale for $89.
I changed the oil on it one day and the oil drain hole in the crank case cracked on the bottom and then started leaking oil check yours and be sure that it is not cracked.
I fixed mine with jb weld and be very careful tightening the drain bolt and don't tighten it very tight or it may crack if it's not already also put a rubber O ring on the drain bolt right behind the head for a seal so it don't leak.
