I've been noticing quite a few YouTube ads that seem to be AI generated. Really creepy too. I think they grab an image of someone and there's generally little movement of the mouth and body, then add a voice sample. If there's any movement other than the mouth, it's usually minimal and might be animating the hand or other minor movements. Or the movements are repeated - probably to save on animation expenses.
I'm kind of curious as to how this all works. I'm guessing it's done in order to save money on hiring an actor and crew to work on a commercial. Some model probably signed a release allowing that model's likely to be used for this purpose. I suspect that some of this is also made overseas where English isn't the primary language and the scripts are often really bad. Sometimes using slang where it just doesn't sound right or sounding way too formal.
