Yes. For a performance filter, it's pretty decent. Won't do bad things to sensors that don't play nice with oil, either.
I just recieved my AEM Dryflow. Construction is the best I've ever seen for a performance air filter. The best thing about it is the velocity stack. I guess you'd have to see it, but it's awesome because the intake pipe mounts flush up to the velocity stack in the filter so the transition from filter to intake pipe is totally smooth. I've seen some dyno tests online and filters made like this usually put down twice the power increase that other filters do. It's not all about absolute airflow. The throttle response of this filter compared to the K&N is definetally better. The K&N had a lip of rubber around the base of the filter from when it was manufactured that I think really distrubed the airflow; it was 1/8 inch high. This is on my bad boy Toyota Corolla
. But seriously, making an intake setup with a custom heat shield made a HUGE increase in power, even at low rpms. Makes the car half way mergable now in heavy traffic.
It's kind of DIY. I bought a used K&N 57i induction kit for it and adapted the AEM filter to it. I also drilled a hole and installed a grommet for the air temp sensor in the pipie itself as the K&N filter had a provision for the temp sensor. Finally, I made a heat shield out of Reflectix brand heat reflecting wrap. Ghetto yes, but I trimmed it up nicely and measured good, so it actually looks decent. And, with my trusty infrared temp gun, temps on the engine side of the heat shield were around 140-150 (just measuring vrious platsic parts); on the filter side temps were around 90 degrees. Part # for the filter is 21-203DK, 5 inch long with a 3 inch inlet diameter.
I just received this filter myself... and I must say that it is definitely the real-deal in terms of construction quality.

Now if only they carried as massive a line of drop-in replacement filter, intake kits, and universal filters in all sorts of shapes and sizes as K&N does. Maybe I could sell those instead of K&Ns ones day. The performance increase of drop-ins is questionable to begin with, but at least this way you don't have to worry about significantly worse filtration than standard paper, or overoiling mistakes.
I had my intake tube off today and what do I find? Dust in the tube. Not much, but it's there. I think it's just the nature of filtration, cause every time I take a car intake apart, there's a bit of dust.
A while back I ordered an AEM short ram for my '04 Accord EX 2.4l 5 speed. It came with the new filter although it wasn't advertised that way....glad it did!
