Advics - made in China?

I'm installing a set of OE Honda front brake pads in my 2013 CRV. During installation, noticed " Advics FF " stamped on the pads. No where on the box does it say where they were manufactured. After researching Advics, found out all North American Advics are made in Georgia., USA. Yet, on their website, they claim to be manufactured in Japan. Bottom line, I give up. You will never know where stuff is manufactured any longer. I'm a 47yr mechanic, and wish the golden days would come back ( 60's, 70's, 80's ). You knew what you were buying and where they were made. There is no Delorean waiting to take me " Back to the Future ! " We are at the world's mercy now. Best of luck to all.

Reason for this is these companies have auto assembler customers all over the world. If you build a car in the US you likely have parts suppliers locally to reduce transit distance for lower inventories, better just in time flexibilities.

Maybe they have lower standard? I don't know but if they are good enough for OEM they are likely good enough for aftermarket (at least in their local markets). It is probably good enough for me.

I would stay away from some brands more than some country of origins though. I wouldn't buy a Cardone made in US if a Toyota made in China is available.

You never know. The advics pads on the front of my mazda are made in japan along with whoever makes the rotors. On the rear the rotors are made in japan but the TRW pads are made in China. The driver side axle seal in made in China. the passenger side is made in Japan.

While we are on the topic, which brand of rotors do you guys like to use?
I used Wagner® Thermoquiets™ last time I did pads and rotors on my Avalon and Forester. They are a solid performer and OEM supplier for many of the domestics. If the imminent price hikes of Akebono or Advics bites you in the butt, you cannot go wrong with these. ZERO fade over 5 years and the integrated shim is a top notch idea.

Imminent price increase will hurt all of us DIY' ers. Yes, the Wagner Thermoquiets are a good substitute pad. The ONLY issue I have with them is longevity in dual piston calipers. Single piston, they last a long time. VERY quiet, low dust, great biting pad, with no fade... Best of all, they do NOT make rotors their favorite meal to eat. No warping, gouging, or " Blue Hue" from overheat. Solid choice. I started playing around with Advics for longevity due to Arthritis...It is taking it's toll on 50yr mechanic. I scan around my garage and see what tools I've accumulated over the years, and wanna cry. I know one day there will be a " Fire Sale" on everything. Meantime, I'll keep wrenching as long as I can !!! Just takes longer to finish jobs now :(
