Heading out to Harbor Freight to grab a few items that I will need to do this job so thanks again everyone. I will be honest glad I posted because I just assumed that all these water pumps that were my option were the same quality. Oh just to let you know Autozone is asking over $250 for this same ACDELCO pump ....man glade I can wait to have it shipped.

I'm late to the party, but you picked the right AC Delco pump. I'm getting ready to replace a "Professional" line pump with 40,000 miles on it. It has been weeping at least slightly for probably 10,000 of those.

This time, I ordered the OEM line pump. Fingers crossed that it holds up better.

The AC Delco pump was on my doorstep this evening as I just got home. Tagged made in Canada and it appears to be very good quality. Now the hard part of just finding time to do the actual exchange on the Impala. Wish me luck.

Wow. Good to know if we order OEM Ac Delco we might get north american parts. For the rest of their lineup usually mexican is the best you can hope for. The Chinese stuff seems to be the worst quality.

Did the install this afternoon of the AC Delco Water Pump. Now remember I am not a mechanic and this was my first attempt at this job. With the help of some good internet video's I think the job went very smoothly just took me longer than most as I just really took my time and kept checking the video on the computer to make sure I did not screw anything up. The old water pump once I pulled it off seemed to be leaking an oily substance from where the spinner sits (not sure as to what you actually call it). The new one when I turned it felt so much different as it seemed smoother when you turned it and I want to say much more resistance as the fan or blade actually turned as where the old one was not really turning the blade or fan any more on the pump. I still have more air bubbles to bleed out but for the most part was able to get the job done with all of your help and save myself several hundred dollars as to what I would have been charged at the local dealer ship or local mechanic. I will give a shout out to the local mechanic as he did encourage me to take this project on myself as he assured me I could perform this with no problem and I could call him if I ran into any problems .
