Who makes Advance Auto branded motor oil?

Probably Warren/Coastal. (NOT to be confused with Warren Performance Products)
My local Advance Auto sales clerk told me their brand of motor oil was packaged by Havoline.
I kind compared their container to that of Havoline's and they look similar too.

I was in an Advance Auto tonight looking for Havoline. The Advance Auto branded oil was sitting right next to Havoline. Yes, they look alike, but when I looked at the back of the container, the label specifically stated it is not Havoline oil or packaged by Chevron.
ABSOLEUTLY *NOT* TRUE. It is NOT Havoline and is NOT made by Chevron.
I think it is made by Warren/Coastal in Memphis. I personally do not like the subtle attempt to "trick" the consumer into thinking it is something it is not. But a lot of non-oil "hosue brands" do that type of merchandising I suppose....the "as good as" thing. Sometimes that is true, sometimes it is definitely NOT.

AAP house brand oil is likely manufactured by different companies, depending on the region of the country.
With that said, as long as it meets the current API spec., it shouldn't make any difference who puts it in the bottles.
As for me, I have decided that once my current stash of oil & filters is depleted, store brand oil & filters are all I'm going to use in my wife's Expedition. I'm wasting money as it is changing the good stuff at 3k miles; It's a sickness, I tell ya & store brand oils/filters are the cure for me.

Advance oils are currently made by coastal.
I used to work for advance and not to long ago they had to recall lots of the 5w30 because it didnt meet the 5w30 cold cranking specs.
All the papers we received said that coastal was the one recalling it.
As far as I know it was 10w30 that somehow got 5w30 labels on them.
