Anyone here having a monthly subscription to either company?
ADT wants $2K to install and $7 per month to maintain.
Guardian wants $1250 to install and $35 per month.
This is for (4) cameras and NVR. Guardian issues a monitor with it also, for their system does not require the internet. ADT requires having the internet.

Both systems shown to me are fine..... clear videos in the daytime and see relatively clear (pretty good) at night with infrared. I am more concerned about your past experiences with either company, while under subscription to them. For instance: In a few years, how hard will it be to get a camera replaced free, if the individual camera is not broken, but becoming partly cloudy due to being weather-worn?

Figure out total cost with each Company over a 1, 5 10 year period.
Roughly, after 2 year, ADT would be saving you money.

What's to maintain on an outside camera ? ? ?

In this day and age, a lot of things are DIY
I'd want to eliminate any repairs calls.

They sell security systems that the homeowner can install himself.
MAYBE THEY SELL SECURITY CAMERAS.

The install I can do. Anyone can screw holes and run 100ft of wire. However, finding a store video camera that's clear (to identify someone) at midnight at 75 ft away, is something I cannot do. I already have a Harbor Freight camera system that works fine during the day, but not at night.

I am an electronics illiterate. I don't even know how to operate a smartphone. Nor do I know the first thing about texting. I do not trust camera system reviews online, nor do I know anyone with a camera system that's good at night.

That's why I'm going with either Guardian or ADT.
Please everyone! DO NOT try to persuade me differently. I am only interested in reading someone's experience with either ADT or Guardian, that has a video monitoring system with them already.

A friend of mine has the whole ADT package, including the video cams. And so far, so good. Everything has held up well, and he says the stuff they use (can't remember the brand) still works as good as he got it 3 years ago. And they have been good about all the questions he has had as well.

I would lean more toward ADT myself...
