Thanks for all of your posts. I've mixed oils like I mentioned above and, put 300,000 miles on several cars without issues. Most of my cars have seen at least 200,000 miles, and all will see 150,000+... These cars seemed to just like regular oil changes and didn't care what oil they drank. As I said previously, some of my cars never drank the same of anything while I owned them and, I put some serious miles on them. Until fuel injection engines arrived, fuel system problems is what I experienced mostly. Fuel system issues will make you think that there is something wrong with your engine. I've had alot of lousy carburators in my day. Love that EFI!

^^^ I imagine in Rochester (is that the home of the Rochester carburetor?) you can get some awful cold weather which could lead to some terrible fuel problems. Reminds me of the time in W.Va. when it was 20 below and the pop I was drinking turned into a slushie in about 5 minutes. For mixing oil, I currently use a mix of Delo truck oil mixed w/Havoline 10w30 (50/50) with good results.

Yes cousin, Rochester is/was the home of the Rochester carburator. Made at the Rochester Products Factory(Div. of GM). I beleive it's called Valeo these days. We also had a DELCO plant here which is now a part of ITT or Delphi.
