Due for the 3rd oil change on the Acura 3.7 SH-AWD. Used Mobil 1 the first time 5w30, as recommended. Went to my oil stach and have the following choices Castrol German 0w30 (some green some gold) or Mobil 1 0W-20 or Mobil 1 5W-20. Which should I pick?

In a 2010 3.7 i wouldn't use anything you list.
IMO get the correct spec oil and save the others for something else.

Owners manual recommends 5W-20 API certified for gasoline engines. Mobil says its 0W-20 can be substituted for 5W-20, while the Castrol is my own idea.
GC is a bad idea; why would you think a heavy (almost 40wt oil) would be a good in a 20wt application?
Mobil 1 0W-20 is would be the first choice closely followed by the Mobil 1 5W-20.

+1. I have a 2009 TL J37A4 engine as well and its a high revving engine that loves lower weight oils. I have used 5w30, 5w20 and 0w20 in this application and the engines feels and revs better with 0w20. Currently I am running Red Line 0w20. I have also used Mobil 1 0w20 and had the same experience as Red Line 0w20.

The correct spec oil is 5w20...he listed a 5w20; the Mobil 1 5w20 which is a great oil and would work well for him.

Well, if he's not looking to rev his engine, and is not looking for maximum MPG, and with summer coming.... if there is no other engine that can use the 0w30, now is a good time to run it.
Hopefully you get enough miles on it before Autumn's cold weather kicks in. You might prefer the massive power, revability, and MPG improvement of the 5w20 or 0w20 then.
I'd go 50:50 Mobil/Castrol to prevent the "OMG its a guzzling slug on 0w30" complaint next week.

If this engine is an iVTEC i don't know how that system will deal with an almost 40w oil that's all.

No GC.. not for out high revving Honda motors...I tried it in my '02 TL and you can actually tell in the -seat of my pants- dyno that's its way too thick.. The engine had lost its snap/responsiveness..if you can believe me..
Right now I am running Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 and its smooth as silk, throttle response is crisp.

If Acura (Honda) spec's out 5w-20, go with either 5w-20 or 0w-20. GC probably is too thick of an oil for this application.
That being said, M1, Castrol Edge, PP, or PU get my vote.

0W-20 Mobil 1 it is. I'll change it out this week and give the seat of the pants report. thanks for all the opinions.
My seat of the pants sucks. Can't really tell a difference between the 5W-20 and the 0W-20. Maybe in neutral it might rev a bit easier, but it could also just be wishfull thinking.

You may notice the difference between the Mobil 1 20wgts and the GC 0W30 not from 0W20 & 5W20. You may notice the differences in NVH between the 20's

I'd give Castrol EDGE 0W20 or Castrol EDGE 5W20 a try.
