I ordered an ACDelco PF68 oil filter for a 2014 Chevy Spark. The filter has "Sewcon" printed on it. I have never heard of this filter mfg - has anyone heard of them before?

I worked for a company that sold Daewoo fork lifts and they were really well built and reliable . Are Daewoo vehicles reliable?

Nope. Totally disposable cars. My brother bought one new in 2000, a Lanos. Total piece of you know what. They only sold cars here for a couple years, and then Daewoo pulled out of North America and started pedaling their wares through General Motors.

Daewoo as a passenger car manufactuer dosent exist anymore. It was bought out by GM Korea. They make
Chevrolet Malibu
Chevrolet Spark
Chevrolet Trax
Damas/Labo
Buick Encore/Opel Mokka
Opel Karl
They've become a good brand.

The one person I know with a Chevy Spark bought it used from Hertz as an ex-rental-car and does not understand the concept of maintenance (the oil change was put off until the check engine light came on because the variable timing solenoid wasn't working due to dirty/low oil, I kid you not)... and it's been over two years and it's still fine! Only thing that broke that I know of was the coolant tank randomly cracked, and while the part took a week to show up from an online GM dealer, it was cheap and took... 10 minutes to put in? I don't think they are as junk as people seem to claim they are.

You folks know Daewoo was making cars for GM even in the late 80s. Pontiac Lemans here in the US. Really never had any real issues with those, we sold a lot of them and they were not problematic. The worst part was you just never knew what kind of horn button it might have on it, not sure why the horn buttons were such an issue, but we had them come in with Opel, Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Daewoo... then it would take 2+ weeks to get the correct one before we could put it on the lot, which kind of set off the dealer principal.

Back to the filter, be interesting to see whats inside that thing, maybe I will try to snag one out of the filter barrel next time I am by the dealer.

I have one just like it waiting to put on my mom's spark when I get up there to see her. I just went ahead and ordered one for pickup at Walmart when I couldn't find another filter with the correct bypass setting besides wix. The wix was like $9 I got this one for about $6. Fram extra guard has one but it's not the right bypass setting. Good choice with the AC Delco Hig i think

If this engine is still alive in six months, I will send the filter to car51/Adam and let him cut it apart for us.

Not sure about this one - it lost most of its coolant when a nipple on the coolant expansion tank cracked. According to the freeze frame data, the temp got up to 243.

I installed a new expansion tank, thermostat and did an oil change (due to the overheat). The car runs fine for now, but the head may have been damaged. I need to do a block test on it once my new kit arrives.
