Looks good. Thank You for cut and post photos

Typical champ filter, very nice build quality and held up perfectly fine. I just hope they bring the metal end caps throughout the whole line such as the PF47E.

I would be pretty annoyed if a new (to me) truck was burning 2.5 quarts in only 3000 miles! By way of comparison, our backup company '19 Express 2500, LQ4 6.0, has around 3500 miles on it's last oil change, and it has burned ZERO oil... At 196K miles! It's been beat on & poorly maintained in it's life too (not by me) with non-Dexos bulk 5W30 & jobber oil filters. I'm guessing the L8T being GDI is the reason why!

different motor families entirely. ls vs lt. i don’t know if the dealer even filled it all the way up. and i highly doubt it’s a LQ4, it’ll be a LY6.

when I bought my pre owned 2016 Cadillac CTS V-Sport that requires 7 quarts and a PF63 it had a UPF63 filter and 6 quarts from the selling GM dealership...I added a quart of full synthetic 5W-30 and it has never burned a drop (that I am aware of) in the 3 years I've owned it thus far...

although it had been recommended by several Cadillac dealerships to use the UPF63 and 5W-30 Mobil 1 EP...I just use the PF63 filter as my reading of the service bulletin showed my LF3 (and the LF4 in the ATS-V) do not recommend the UPF63 as a replacement for the PF63 despite that recommendation on several purchase sites...several ATS-V owners have shown no issues with the PF63 even for tracked cars...

anyway my point is that I've had a couple dealerships over the years try to put in the wrong amount or type of oil than recommended by the manufacturer

Good luck with yours

Bill
