AC oil filters on Ebay

Has anyone looked at Ebay today? Well there is a ton of AC oil filters. Found 12ea PF59 for $38 including shipping. That is $3.15 ea. Not a bad deal. There is a ton of other ones on there. The auction ends in 8 hours or so. Wonder what is up with this. Old stock? If so how old?

maybe somebody bought case loads for a new vehicle and then wrecked or sold it before they originally expected to.
nix on that, looks like a parts house in Fredericksburg, Va...good question why he is selling on Ebay...

It looks like an AC Delco seller is offering oil filters at case lots. Just about any model you want available in case lots. I found many pages of the filters for sale.

Parts stores around here, sell them for 3.50 a piece. If you are buying a case lot, then the markup doesn't have to be as high per filter.

Most of them look like common numbers. A dozen is a 3 year supply even for an every 3 months fanatic like me. With the bidding getting near what I can buy one for when I need it, I wouldn't put up the money.

They could be counterfeit too. The 16 February Forbes has an article on page 98 titled Stolen Cars that also discusses counterfeit parts, ''Replacement parts like oil filters, headlamps, batteries, brake pads, fan belts, windshields, and spark plugs packaged with fake logos, are turning up all over the world including the U.S. ... coolant that can eat through a car's radiator in 48 hours.''. I will post a link to it next week when it is available online. Maybe some of these Death Cool stories really were Death cool. Could even explain some of the disappointingly small filter elements in some WIX filters. Do we need to spend less time worrying about small differences in brands and more time making sure we are buying what we think we are?

Watch out for the "shipping and handling" charges. Too often they're exhorbitant.
