Is the AC-Delco UPF52 filter more restrictive than the regular Ultragaurd PF52 filter?

According to AC-Delco, No:

I think the graph is misleading though...if your bypass valve kicks in at 8-11 p.s.i. (a common number), then the rest of the graph is pointless...no oil is being filtered.

Don't know what differential they are talking about but when a bypass valve opens there should be an obvious knee in the graph line. The pressure may be system pressure rather than the differential across the filter itself, which is what opens the bypass.
The test is probably academic at best. They probably used a machine to test the filters, and used a 1218 or something like it, that doesn't have a bypass valve, just to get numbers for the test. But it does seem that the UPF's are superior in flow.
When it comes to flow and filtration, the UPF-## line of filters CAN'T be beat.
