The ship left a long time ago Scott. Why is everyone so surprised to see AC Delco Sparkplugs from China? GM is importing an entire car from China. Buick Envision.

Bosch is making plugs in Russia as well, I guess in Soviet Russia plug sparks you!

Bosch is making plugs in Russia as well, I guess in Soviet Russia plug sparks you!

Last set of Bosch plugs I used were made in Germany. Vic currently has Autolites, made in Mexico.
 
The Platinum & Iridium plugs are still made by NGK in the US or Japan, The old obsolete spark plugs are probably made by the cheapest bidder.

The writing was on the wall for this to happen when AC Spark Plug/AC Rochester Division became part of the then "new" AcDelco Division in 1995, This is old news guys......

And I wouldn't buy a Buick Envision. Not a chance. For our new VW Passat, the dealer supplied OEM oil filters are Chinese made. I declined to buy them. The parts guy actually said it is becoming more common for people to do that. I got South Korean made Wix filters, and a set of Bulgarian made Mahles. Still foreign goods, but not made by a Communist nation. Every single item I buy in my life, I look at COO labels. Of course, I buy Chinese made goods because I have no choice, but I avoid it whenever possible. Too bad others don't do the same. The Chinese do it to us. Just look how American auto and Apple sales have tanked in China after the tariff talks (the tariffs have not yet changed). The Chinese public has the best interests of their nation in mind. The US (and Canada) not so much. But it's going to work out in the long run. For them. More power to them.

PS Did you know the WTO considers China an "emerging economy"? Canada is considered an "advanced economy". Interesting considering China is a more advanced economy than Canada!

AlliedSignal did a decent job running the Autolite plant in Fostoria, OH. It wasn't until Allied buying out Honeywell(but taking on their name) and in the pursuit of cost cutting for maximizing shareholder return started to wind down Fostoria in favor of their new spark plug plant near the US/Mexico border in Tijuana just a stone's throw from San Diego.

The circumstances that the WTO use to determine who is emerging and who is advanced are changing. The WTO measuring parameters are likely outdated. China ,it should be noted, is spending a ton of money to leapfrog their economy to a new level.

Haha. What happened was a load of LNG of was shipped from a facility in Siberia to a off-loading facility in Europe. The LNG went into the same pressure vessels as some loads from Algeria and elsewhere. During the winter last year the gas company in the Boston area required additional gas and took on a load from Europe. Bet you didn't know the NE has a LNG receiving facility. The gas came from that European facility and from the same pressurized tanks the Russian gas was stored in. Guess what. That Russian gas helped warm Boston. Not much but undeniable. The world is a much smaller place.

To be fair it was commingled with LNG from other sources as well, so it was not exclusively Russian gas
