A5/B5 Question

I typically just stock a single 'regular' 5w-30 full syn in my shop, a long with a handful of various spec 5W-30s for misc applications. However, we use more and more A5/B5 5W-30 from Motul, and it's getting pricey. We are mInly using it for the hyunda/kias calling for it, and a handful of other vehicles. The Hyundai/Kia owners are really wondering why they have $100+ oil changes, and I'm willing to bet the dealer isn't using it either. I'm curious - if I find one in bulk, can I use it as my main 5w-30 syn? Would it cover dexos (any gen?), and any API SN application?

On the same token though.....does anybody happen to know why they even spec'd an A5/B5 for a gasoline engine? Will a dexos oil work just as well in them?

A5/B5 is for both gas (A5) and diesel (B5)

And yes, a d1g3 will work fine in them :)

Australia is behind the times then, as usual. Still A5/B5 in the land down under.
